Welcome to What's New at StaRT. Here you will find important news and information regarding StaRT. Please be sure to scroll down through the length of the page. You never know what you will find that could be of interest to you.

You will also find there is a new look to the StaRT Web Site. You will find new areas of interest by clicking on the StaRT Quick Link bar (shown on the left) on every page.

We have added a Spanish information page (Información español). You will also see a Spanish version of the How to Ride the Bus Video: "Taking the Bus".

Below are the changes to the StaRT system effective August 6th, 2007.

Due to increased traffic and to maintain buses being on time, schedule changes are being made to almost all StaRT routes. In addition, due to passenger requests, the following changes are being made:

 dot bullet Route 10 (service from Modesto to Turlock)
Adding two new peak time runs between Modesto and Turlock.  In the morning, leaving Modesto Transit Center at 6:35 a.m., arrive in Turlock at 6:49 a.m. and return to Modesto at 7:47 a.m.  The afternoon run will leave Modesto at 5:20 p.m., arrive in Turlock at 5:34 p.m. and return to Modesto at 6:19 p.m.
Added one more stop to MJC at 7:39.
Schedule Time changes were made to improve on time performance.
 
 dot bullet Route 15 (service between Modesto, Ceres, Keyes & Turlock)
Moving the current southbound stop at Jenny’s on Herndon to eastbound Hatch at Radio Shack.
Moving the current northbound stop at H
atch and Herndon to westbound on Hatch at Home Depot.
Added two new stops at MJC at 10:50 a.m. and 7:48 p.m.
Schedule Time changes were made to improve on time performance.

 
 dot bullet Route 40 (service between Modesto, Grayson, Westley & Patterson)
Eliminating the stop on the last run at Amelia & Stakes (6:58 p.m.) in Grayson on Saturdays.
Schedule Time changes were made to improve on time performance.
 
 dot bullet Route 45 (service between Turlock, Patterson, Crows Landing, Newman & Gustine)
Eliminating stops on last run between Gustine & Patterson. We will pick up at 6th St. &  3rd. St. in Gustine and then stop at the City Park in Patterson. We will allow flagdowns.
Schedule Time changes were made to improve on time performance.
 
 dot bullet  Route 60 (operates between Oakdale, Riverbank & Modesto)
Schedule time changes were made to improve on time performance.
 
 dot bullet Route 70 (New service operating between Modesto, Turlock and Merced)
Adding service to the Merced Transpo Center for transfer from StaRT to Merced’s “The Bus” public transit service. Leaves Modesto at 6:20a.m. and returns to Modesto at 5:50 p.m.
 
 dot bullet Eastside Shuttle (provides curb-to-curb service between Oakdale, Riverbank & Modesto)
Saturday service added.
 
 dot bullet Modesto/Turlock Shuttle (provides curb-to-curb service between Modesto, Ceres, Keyes and Turlock)
Saturday service added.
 dot bullet Medivan - Bay Area ( Serves Livermore, Oakland, San Francisco, Menlo Park, Stanford, Palo Alto)
Friday service added. Reservations are required.

To help provide transportation information to County residents, the authors have created the “Stanislaus County Transportation Guide” to provide an easy to use reference manual of the many transportation modes available within Stanislaus County. The purpose of this guide is to help County residents with the first step; providing information of available transportation services.
