Transfer Policy |
Riders can transfer between StaRT (Fixed
Stops Only), MAX, CAT (Ceres Area Transit), Ceres
Dial-A-Ride, DART (Dial-A-Ride Turlock) and
BLST
for free.

Transfers are not accepted to ride Route 70 or between
Routes 10 & 15. Transfers
are available to MAX or BLST.
Only riders who get on or off at StaRT fixed stops may
request a transfer. To transfer from any of the above services to a
StaRT Shuttle or Runabout curb-to-curb service, a full fare is required.
Transfers to and from StaRT Shuttle or Runabout curb-to-curb service are
not permitted. Transfers are good only at transfer points in Modesto,
Ceres, Turlock and designated StaRT bus stops in the Riverbank & Oakdale service area.
Passengers may only purchase one
transfer per paid fare. A Transfer may be used for the continuation or
extension of a current trip and may not be used for a return trip.

Senior 65+ and
Persons with Disabilities Discount Card Information |

In order to be eligible for a StaRT Senior
65+ and Persons with Disabilities Discount Card, you
must be sixty-five (65) years of age or over, or have a disability. To request an
application form, call (800) 252-1516. You may also call StaRT's customer comment
line at (800) 668-5600 and leave your name and address and an application form will be
mailed to you. You may also download the application form -

Return or mail the completed application to Stanislaus Regional Transit, Stanislaus
County Public Works Department, Transit Division, 1010 10th Street, Suite

Modesto, CA 95354. If you are eligible, a StaRT Senior/Person with Disabilities
Discount Card will be mailed to you within 21 days.
To receive a discounted fare for Stanislaus Regional Transit (StaRT) services,
passengers are required to show a StaRT Senior/Person with Disability Discount card to the
driver. The discount cardholder may be required to show a photo ID along with the discount
card in order to get the discount.
StaRT recognizes any valid proof of eligibility
for the senior or person with disability discount.

Note: When using a check to purchase
StaRT ticket books or fare cards at any of the above
locations, checks should be made out to the location
from where the ticket books or fare cards are being
purchased. For example, when buying a ticket book at
Turlock City Hall, checks should be made payable to the
City of Turlock. This does not apply to the Modesto
Transportation Center. Checks written at the Modesto
Transportation Center should be made payable to
Stanislaus County.

Fare Information and Related Policies - |
| Do not
wrinkle, fold or tear your ticket. Do not expose to the
sun. Do not write on or laminate your ticket.
Damaged tickets will not be replaced and are
non-refundable. Children
age five (5) and under ride free when accompanied by a
paying adult. Two children age 5 and under may ride free
for each paid adult fare. Minimum age for a child
without adult supervision is nine (9) years old.
Children eight (8) and under must be accompanied by
someone sixteen (16) years or older. |
