Customers requesting a modification or accommodation must be as specific as possible and include information explaining the need for the requested modification in order to use StaRT’s services.

Requests for modification must be made by submitting a formal, written letter. The formal letter or completed request form may be mailed to:

The Department will notify the customer of its decision by mail within 30 days of receipt of the request.

Travel Training

Stanislaus Regional Transit (StaRT) is pleased to partner with MOVE (a divison of Paratransit, Inc.) to provide travel training within Stanislaus County. Travel Training is designed to offer senior citizens and people with disabilities one-on-one instruction on how to use fixed route public transportation in an effort to gain independence and increase mobility options.

MOVE’s Travel Training Program teaches participants to travel independently to specific destinations, maneuver mobility aids on and off StaRT buses, identify landmarks, and travel to and from bus stops. The program uses a series of gradual steps to build confidence and independence, starting with close, one-on-one instruction and gradually reducing the level of assistance as the participant’s skills develop. If you’re hesitant to ride the bus, travel training will give you the confidence you need to feel comfortable and in control while riding public transit.

Contact MOVE at (209)522-2300 for more information.
